We, (Andrea, my father and I) spent an enjoyable weekend in Busselton and watched the 2010 Busselton IronMan on Sunday. The weather felt like all seasons in one day ranging from mild, still and ideal to cold, rainy and windy then to hot and humid.
The ironman was brilliantly organised and was great to watch with the run course including the main street and the finishing point also on the main street. This time the Iron Man was organised by the actual IronMan organisation and this resulted in a strong American influence in the commentary as well as a web site showing results in miles and miles per hour instead of kilometres.
My son, Dave, put in a great effort doing the 3.8 km swim, 180 km ride and 42 km run in a total of 9 hours 34 minutes. It was an awesome effort and I was one very proud and emotional father seeing him cross the finishing line. Click here for Dave's times.
Our friend, my neice's husband, Michael Rees also did very well Click here for Michael's times.
John Berkin, who joined us on Life Cycle for CanTeen this year was also a competitor. You can see John's times and search for other competitors Click here to search other results
It was absoulutely amazing to watch such a big field of competitors (over 1,300 competitors) put in such an effort.
